A captivating mixed-media painting that radiates national pride and passion
I Love Romania is an original contemporary abstract painting executed in acrylics using the pouring technique, a defining element of my artistic practice. The composition is built around the tricolor, red, yellow, and blue—the chromatic identity of the Romanian flag—transformed into a dynamic field of movement, energy, and emotion.
The work resonates with the radical materiality and spiritual intensity of Yves Klein’s Peintures, while echoing the raw, visceral force and historical tension found in the paintings of my contemporary Romanian fellow artist, Adrian Ghenie.
Created as an intimate declaration of belonging, I Love Romania reflects my personal and professional roots: I was born here, educated here by remarkable teachers, shaped by meaningful collaborations, and today my business is firmly based in Bucharest. The painting emerges from a moment of gratitude and confidence, at a time when Romania reveals itself as a land of resilience, cultural depth, and significant investment potential—both economic and human.
Through the pouring technique, control and chance coexist, mirroring Romania’s own historical trajectory: a country shaped by struggle, continuity, and renewal. The fluidity of the paint evokes the flow of time and collective memory, while the flag’s colors dissolve and reunite, suggesting unity beyond fragmentation. Philosophically, the work aligns with ideas of becoming and transformation, recalling Heraclitus’ notion that everything flows, as well as the poetic nationalism of Romanian literature, where land, identity, and spirit are inseparable.
I Love Romania stands as a contemporary abstract statement of love, trust, and forward-looking vision. It is not only a symbolic homage to national identity, but also a testament to my ongoing exploration of pouring as a language of emotion, history, and lived experience—where paint becomes energy, and energy becomes meaning.
Perfect for art lovers and patriots alike, "I Love Romania" transforms any space into a celebration of culture and emotion.
